How to Import Customers

Explain how you can upload a large number of customers from a database into the Sophie CRM using a CSV file.

Step 1: Navigate to the Customers Tab

  • To begin, go to the customers tab.

Step 2: Access the "Import Customers" Option

  • In the top right corner of the screen, next to the search bar and the "add new customer" button, you will see a button labeled Import Customers.
  • Click on this button.

Step 3:  Download Template for Importing Customers

  • Download the template file - choose either CSV template or Excel template file
  • Use this template file to add your customer details including:
    • Firstname
    • LastName
    • Suburb
    • Address
    • Email
    • Phone
    • Business Name
    • tags
    • instagram
    • facebook

Step 4: Upload Your CSV File

  • If you have already downloaded the CSV file of your customers from your other database, you can drag and drop it into the provided box.

Step 5: Use the Sophie CSV Template

  • To ensure the customers are synced and uploaded correctly, you must follow the Sophie CSV template.
  • You can find examples of both a CSV template and an Excel template below the upload box.
  • Important: Ensure that the phone numbers added under the phone number column are in the international format, starting with 61 followed by a 9-digit phone number.
  • Important: If the suburb information is not available, enter XXX in the suburb column.
