How does Sophiie confirm bookings, and why do some need my review?
It depends on your setting under How bookings are confirmed at Settings → Job bookings → Auto bookings. With Hard bookings, a booking is confirmed on the spot. With Tentative bookings, Sophiie holds the time and the booking waits in the For my review section of your Jobs page until you confirm it.
The two confirmation modes
The How bookings are confirmed card at Settings → Job bookings → Auto bookings offers two options:
- Hard bookings — the slot is locked in straight away, confirmed with the customer on the call. It goes into your schedule as Confirmed with no step in between.
- Tentative bookings — Sophiie holds the slot, and the job sits at Pending status until your team confirms it. It appears in the For my review section on the Jobs page's Today tab (on a phone, the My review pill); confirm it there, or use Confirm on the job's row menu.
New accounts start on Tentative bookings.
For my review is also where an accepted quote waits for you to confirm the job — so one section holds everything needing your say-so.
Once you confirm, the job's status changes to Confirmed. A Confirmed job's row menu offers Notify customer, and your customer booking messages (like the Booking confirmed template) are set up separately — see "How do I set up booking confirmations and reminders for my customers?".
Minimum notice and buffers
On the same Settings → Job bookings → Auto bookings page:
- Minimum notice — the earliest she'll book from right now. You can choose 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, Same day, 1 day or 2 days. If you've never chosen one, Sophiie books no earlier than the start of the next day.
- Buffer before and buffer after — breathing room either side of each job, for travel, set-up or pack-down, so bookings don't butt up against each other.
These shape which slots Sophiie offers callers in the first place, alongside working hours, time off, date-specific closures and connected calendars — you set closures and one-off hours on the Closures and exceptions card at Settings → Business → Hours. See "How do bookings work in Sophiie?".
Common Questions
Why did Sophiie book a job starting almost immediately?
A short Minimum notice was chosen at some point. Raise it at Settings → Job bookings → Auto bookings — the options are 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, Same day, 1 day or 2 days. (If you've never chosen one, Sophiie already books no earlier than the start of the next day, so a same-day booking means a short setting is stored.)
Which mode should I use?
Tentative bookings if you want the final say before anything is locked in — every booking waits for your team's confirmation. Hard bookings if speed matters more and your availability settings are accurate enough to trust.
Where do I find bookings waiting on me?
The For my review section on the Jobs page's Today tab. Jobs there sit at Pending status; you can also spot them by filtering the All jobs table to Pending.
Do confirmed bookings show up in my calendar?
Yes — with a calendar connected, bookings appear within 5 minutes. If one hasn't, see "Why aren't my bookings showing up in my calendar?".
